Position Summary
Initiate preventative/predictive maintenance and complete scheduled PMs in a timely manner.
Coordinate building service system repairs with responsible owners and third party contractors. Some systems include HVAC, steam, High Pressure Water, domestic hot & cold water, compressed air, ammonia, natural gas, and lighting.
Assist as needed with facility improvement projects including the on-going maintenance of the Pilot Plant, office areas, sensory room by performing basic maintenance repairs
Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on appliances and equipment.
Perform equipment installation work including pipefitting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical work.
Respond to service/breakdown/emergency calls regarding pilot plant equipment.
Assist with contractor qualification/selection process.
Make recommendations to improve equipment performance, quality of product, and cost efficiency.
Monitor and coordinate contractor’s activities on site and their compliance with NDC Solon’s contractor work rules program.
Follow scheduled mechanical work needed to support Nestle Requirements such as NIMS (ISO, OSHAS & NQMS), EFCA, GI’s and other directives. Follow scheduled work needed to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Employee is responsible to follow and uphold all food safety, food quality, occupational safety, health and environment policies and procedures as pertains to role.
Maintain a safe, clean work area.
Attend technical training classes and cascade the training to others when applicable.
Interact and participate with project teams as required.
Participate (give/receive) cross training to promote broad knowledge base in equipment, processes, and utility systems.
Adhere to the preventative maintenance program that drives prioritization of work across the site.
Interact and participate in discussions with engineers and equipment suppliers while providing technical assistance when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):
High School Diploma (or GED.)
Associate or related technical degree preferred
One-five years years of related experience preferred.
Basic pipefitting, plumbing and carpentry skills.
Electrical power and controls operation and repair knowledge.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
A proactive independent person that is able to complete tasks and duties as assigned with minimal supervision over time. Creative and innovative with a sense of urgency and passion. This individual will receive direction from the Site Engineering & Maintenance Manager. The individual will also receive coaching and guidance from experienced team members as part of the ramp up curve in the role. The manager will set up a training plan and it is the responsibility of the individual to execute the plan.
SUPERVISION GIVEN:
This individual does not have any direct reports but should be able to lead fellow team members in projects that he/she is the leading.
