The Commercial Development Manager drives value by setting and driving Sales strategy and results. The individual leader will possess a strong understanding of the business and serve as a key voice to stakeholders. He/she/they will gather and analyze information to deliver the annual operating plan. The role is a key connection point across all functions including Sales (internal and broker), Marketing, Pricing, Supply Chain, and Finance. This individual leader will regularly communicate complex information up, down, and across the company, in large and small settings.
This role will be based in our Solon, Ohio office and report to the Senior Manager of Commercial Development.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert of assigned portfolio and influences others outside of own job area.
- Advocates across all functions to meet team member, customer, and consumer needs.
- Communicates vision, strategy, and tactics to stakeholders up, down, and across the company.
- Has strong self-awareness, is a self-starter, and leads autonomously.
- Has the ability to prioritize activities and orchestrate resources for efficiency and effectiveness.

Planning and Execution
- Leads the Go-To-Market strategy to achieve all AOP and Sales objectives for an assigned portfolio of brands and/or channels. Develops and executes plans to acquire, grow, and retain accounts.
- Participates and/or leads projects as needed.
- Understands key business drivers and trends to identify and recognize growth opportunities.
- Supports Sales team with Sales activities, including co-presentations to customers.
- Leverages customer, category, channel/segment, and insights to provide direct input into the P&L.
- Gathers detailed information, analyzes, and investigates to fully understand risk and opportunities.
- Researches, develops and maintains identified customer, channel, and competitor insights.
- As a key contributor representing Sales in forecasting processes, gathers Sales and customer signals to improve forecast accuracy. Represents Sales for new product launches and discontinuations.
- Contributes to ongoing business reviews with stakeholders.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in Sales, Category, Marketing and/or related function within a matrixed company
- Intermediate experience executing sales product strategy and/or sales plans
- Intermediate experience managing and leading joint business plans with commercial customers
- Intermediate experience building forecasts with multiple P&L factor considerations
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI skills
- Experience working with CRM systems
- Experience and understanding of Foodservice channels, preferred
- Experience as B2B Foodservice territory and/or national account salesperson, preferred
- Minimum bachelor’s degree, required
- Possesses advanced business and financial acumen
- Demonstrates strong end-to-end thinking
- Ability to travel up to 20%
