Position Summary

An Electronic Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, maintains, and improves electrical equipment throughout the factory.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Works with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions to diagnose and service equipment.
  • Diagnoses and isolates equipment systems and system malfunctions
  • Adjusts and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electrical components.
  • Completes quality electrical and electronic maintenance preventive and corrective work
  • Specializes in troubleshooting and repair of modern PLC controlled equipment
  • Troubleshoots and analyzes complex problems and implements remedies in a safe manner.  This includes control issues with any drive or PLC components as well as PLC program modifications and troubleshooting.
  • Completes minor mechanical work on breakdowns to decrease downtime events
  • Adapts to new and changing technology in the electronic field 
  • Assists other functions of the maintenance department 
  • Must be willing and able to teach fundamental electrical/electronic skills to other functions within the factory
  • Must function effectively under deadline and breakdown pressures and meet the physical demands of the job
  • Must have the initiative and be able to aggressively work toward a goal of troubleshooting and repairing any in-house electrical and electronic automated equipment down to the component level
  • Experience in installing conduit of all types 
  • Temperature control set-up and tuning 
  • Understands functionality of various types of scales with the ability to repair. 
  • Read blueprints and vendor instructions to determine repair procedures.
  • Remove, repair, or replace defective electronic components to minimize technical downtime.
  • Design, draw, assemble and install electronic components.
  • Program various electronic equipment to meet needs of production.
  • Manage assigned workload on a daily basis
  • Maintain all safety warning postings and identification tags on equipment.
  • Other duties assigned.


SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Alan Bradley hardware/software required
  • Knowledge of HMI programming.
  • Experience in Panelview, FactoryTalk ME, FactoryTalk SE
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Previous electronic maintenance experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with Siemens hardware/software is a plus
  • Advanced computer and PLC programming skills in RS logix.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the willingness and initiative to learn
  • Must observe good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
  • Must follow safety rules and procedures. 
  • Must be able to work up to 48 hours per week on an assigned shift with some daily overtime and weekend overtime
