Position Summary

The Director of Beverage Sales works with all Sales Channels (National Accts, Club Deli, Alt Channels, Street/Onsite) to support commercial and operational execution and drive beverage growth to meet our MBS ambition. The role is critical to execute the Beverage portfolio and drive new business in existing channels/ customers as well as develop new channels, customers, and go-to-market models in collaboration with other sales channels leads. The role provides Beverage strategic direction and input for development of Channel, Customer/ Distributor and Field sales strategies in line with business ambition in MBS and translated into ICP and OMP.

 

The role leads Dispensed Beverage Field Sales Organization consisting of Regional Sales Managers (3 employees) and Sr. Specialists Field Sales (30+ employees) and reports directly to the Head of Sales. Will work closely with the Trade Asset Field Service team.

 

Responsibilities:

•    Communicate and align Strategic Beverage Priorities throughout the sales organization (Channel, Customer, business development, distribution penetration, visibility, etc.), develop and execute sales execution plans.
•    Work closely with the Senior Sales Leaders (VPs, Sr Directors) and VP of Marketing & Trade Asset Operations to execute annual Beverage commercial plans within National Accounts, Alt Channels, Club Deli, Onsite and Street and deliver beverage growth
•    Accountable and Responsible to ensure achievement of agreed sales targets/KPIs. Challenges the sales organization to ensure its effectiveness and meet evolution of business requirements
•    Ensure effective liaison with Marketing, Supply Chain, Beverage Trade Assets Service, Finance and other functions to manage trade off and drive for overall objectives achievement
 

Develop Winning Strategies and Plans

  • Delivering Beverage plans, identifying eventual gaps, developing actions to close the gaps
  • Partners with Beverage Marketing and cross functional team members, input field sales knowledge and insights into regional ‘must win battles’ (MWB) and actions

 

Drive Profitable Revenue Growth

  • Partner with Beverage marketing, sales & finance to optimize promotion plans based on systematic promotional evaluation, challenge effectiveness, funding & mechanics, balancing trade investment with customer tactics and needs, to improve return on investment
  • Applies trade asset investment structure optimally with customer(s) to support category & business objectives & aligned with customer prioritization & resource allocation strategy

 

Lead Category Development

  • Be the Beverage expert who can represent the Category to the Customer supporting Sales & Marketing to win in the market
  • Develop Beverage channel solutions and contribute to build commercially aligned business cases and key initiatives that address the opportunity for future channel growth leveraging our categories strategies

 

Experience Required:

  • Strong background in Sales, with 10+ years of experience.
  • Has successfully delivered on KPIs, especially top and bottom-line business results.  Has multi-category experience. 
  • People leadership experience preferred
  • Advanced Knowledge of core Business Processes and Fundamentals- Sales/Distribution, Customer Planning and Managing, Financial Reporting and Training.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
