Position Summary

This position supports the Direct Material Procurement team, responsible for key operational functions that that ensure accuracy of execution against raw and pack strategy and contracts. This role partners with the Strategic Sourcing Specialists and Category Management Buyers to maintain accurate information in SAP and resolve discrepancies that prevent payment to vendors. 

 

Leading expertise in foundational understanding of key activities, and strong ambassador of key priorities and the impacts, facing the broader Direct Materials team. Lead continuous improvement efforts for the Associate team and operational review. 

 

Develops strong relationships with the Direct Materials team, Procurement Performance Acceleration team, and if applicable, global Procurement Buying teams. Also works collaboratively with factory facing supply chain, Procurement Finance team, AP & Vendor Master teams, and suppliers when needed.

 

Builds a thorough understanding of the relevant US Nestle factory locations and distribution centers where raw & pack materials are used and stored.  

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with the Strategic Sourcing Team to understand category details, including market conditions, contract setup, vendor base & relationships, and strategic volume allocations. 
  • Utilize category knowledge and health checks or exception reports to monitor contract maintenance accuracy and make corrections quickly and accurately. Regular review of new contracts to ensure accuracy and ability to influence to make corrections when needed.
  • Partner with Sourcing Specialists to assist in material forecasting processes and contract increases or changes, to ensure supply. 
  • Utilize category knowledge and partner with Specialists to provide information in new material and/or vendor setups prior to contract creation. 
  • Review and resolve blocked freight invoices regularly, strategically create conditions in SAP to prevent blocks, controlling for over-accruals, based on incoterms and invoices. 
  • Participate in and co-lead operational reviews to monitor contract maintenance results and continuously drive improvements.
  • Drive the development of reporting to support the Direct Materials Team on foundational activities by finding ways to better leverage reporting and digital tools.  
  • Partner with the Procurement Performance Acceleration team to understand global reporting availability and best practices. 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned, updating category ownership in PRISM, reviewing category strategies, assist in vendor onboarding process by partnering with global teams. 


REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Economics, Logistics/Transportation or other applicable discipline required


EXPERIENCE:  

  • Minimum 1-2 years in related Supply Chain discipline: SC Planning, Sourcing, Purchasing/Procurement and/or material management, technical/manufacturing experience and/or or equivalent experience required. Internal Development Trainee candidates: second or third rotation will be considered.
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Power BI utilized for data analysis experience preferred
  • Required proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including but not limited to, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and demonstrated experience in Excel
  • Experience with system implementation, inventory optimization, and identifying use cases for reporting, are a plus
