Position Summary

Provide facility maintenance and preventative maintenance (PM’s) for the Corporate Office, Test Kitchens, Walk-in Coolers and Freezers, Pilot Plant, Dock, and exterior grounds. Maintenance knowledge and certifications in some or all of the following fields: HVAC, Electrical, Refrigeration, Mechanical, Plumbing, Carpentry and general food service equipment (ovens, kettles, mixers, etc.). Support pilot plant operations through coordination of activities, equipment set-up, teardown, sanitation, and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Continually demonstrating proficient communications and ability to work in a team environment under short timelines.
Support the Facilities Team with logistics while setting up building/customer events.
Coordinate and perform maintenance and sanitation activities including set-up/teardown of equipment, PMs, spare parts inventories, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
Provide processing and product improvement suggestions based on observations and system knowledge.  Serve as processing resource as teams utilize the pilot plant equipment.
Certifications in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical proficiencies strongly desirable.
Adhere to high sanitation GMP’s. Responsible for keeping pilot plant well organized and clean.
Work closely with Quality Assurance when maintenance is being performed and follow all GMP standards for Food Safety.
Maintain high level Safety standards while performing maintenance and ensure that 3rd party contractors are doing the same.
Have and maintain a safe driving record and valid driver’s license to operate company owned vehicles.  
Maintain accurate, thorough maintenance and sanitation records for compliance.
Participation in departmental activities such as panels, meetings, committees, administrative obligations (phone, e-mail).
Maintain a thorough accurate list of preventative maintenance (PM’s) items so equipment operates efficiently. Comply with manufacturers recommended standards.
Working in extreme temperatures and typical commercial/industrial environments. Physically demanding work. 
Be considered the “go to” person for all building system alarms (Fire, Severe Weather, Cooler/Freezer Temperatures).
Work closely with all local and state authorities for fire inspections, elevator inspections and boiler inspections.
Be considered the “go to” person for all maintenance activities.
Comply with all Permit to Work documentation and be the main source for compliance for these documents with all 3rd party contractors working on-site
Work closely with all 3rd party maintenance contractors when they on-site performing repairs or maintenance activities.
Work schedule may vary depending on business needs.  
Other projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma
Minimum 5 years experience working on food service equipment and processes preferred
Comfortable working in food manufacturing and culinary environments
Have a good driving record and valid driver’s license
Safety minded at all times

SKILLS:
Have good creative, math, problem solving and organizational skills, as well as good communications skills. 
Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills are preferred.
Able to work independently while able to support the overall objectives of a team.  
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, multi-project/task environment and be comfortable working with people of varying disciplines and levels: upper management, sales, product development, chefs, marketing, R&D, manufacturing, and plant personnel.  
Computer proficiency in electronic communication. 
Proficient in time management.
