Position Summary

ABILITY TO WORK FROM VARIOUS NESTLE FACTORIES

Provides packaging equipment engineering expertise, strategy and support to all functions within the market, in particular to Corporate and Factory engineering, Industrial Performance, Marketing and Product Development. Ensuring that all engineering activities follow market and industry guidelines for people safety, product quality, protection of the environment, and the performance of assets in operations. Key assistant to the Chief Engineer’s and Engineering Services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own design and cost of all packaging equipment for all capital projects in category
Own URS to ensure all equipment meets Nestle Expectations for the market
Own support of factory’s for packaging equipment including all aspects of design, people, material and maintenance
Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources
Build effective and efficient Systems and Processes that improve our Engineering community/Team “Packaging Capability” 
Encourage all in engineering to direct their efforts towards a "High efficient / low cost" technical solution for improved operations. 
Support Nestlé Good Hygienic Engineering (NGHE) and that all in engineering are familiar with, and implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP.
Ensure that engineering is respecting the requirements of the Nestle Quality System (NQS) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Leverage relationship with PTC, R&D, CT-Engineering and CT-Packaging in respect to new products and technology, and that the procedures to protect Nestlé's technological know-how are actively being implemented across the market.
Encourage continuous improvement, Work Simplification, networking and sharing information within engineering such that it becomes a key pillar of the engineering culture.
Coach and develop packaging engineers and packaging managers at strategic and tactical level
Coordinate with other corporate functions the implementation and execution of best practices across the market
Advise Marketing, Product Development, Packaging Department and Group Engineering on new packaging equipment technologies and trends. Always be at the forefront of the packaging technology.
Support Marketing, Product Development and Innovation Engineers in the conceptual and design phase of new and/or renovated products.
Assist NBE in establishing Total Cost of 0wnership for major packaging equipment
Overall SME for all aspects of packaging
Perform skills gap analysis verifying both operators and trades have sufficient equipment knowledge to operate correctly their machines and ensure training is put in place to meet any shortfall.
Support and encourage the implementation of the engineering tools
Review packaging equipment’s efficiency and assist the plants in reducing both technical and operational downtimeREQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL
BS Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related studies (Mechanical, Chemical, Food, Packaging, Electrical or other) preferred, or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical field packaging responsibilities, preferably in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry. Prior experience managing in matrix, project teams and / or direct reports preferred
SKILLS  
Must me a self starter
In-depth knowledge of packaging systems
Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering.
Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers
Project Engineering/Management
