Position Overview: As a Procurement Optimization Consultant - Project Manager focused on Project Management, you will play a pivotal role in driving transformational change within our procurement operations. The Project Manager (PM) is the voice of the project, who will lead and manage the end-to-end process of optimizing our procurement practices, from identifying areas for improvement to implementing strategic solutions that enhance our sourcing, supplier relationships, and cost-effectiveness. The PM applies project management tools and skills to ensure the on-time launch and extraordinary execution of the project from scope approval to close.  This position requires strong project management, leadership, communication, and presentation skills for the timely and efficient execution of the various initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex procurement projects, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and achieving measurable results.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of procurement optimization initiatives to achieve operational excellence, transformational change, and cost savings.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of current procurement processes, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, locally and globally, including sourcing, finance, supply chain, and IT, to gather insights, align objectives, and implement best practices.
  • Create and manage measurement systems to track project progress, to include:
    • Timeline/Milestone Tracking
    • Project Issue/Risk Log Tracking
    • Meeting / Workshop coordination
    • Benefits/KPI Tracking against Business Case
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Drive change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and procedures across the organization. Balance needs of multiple stakeholders and gain buy-in from groups who may be resistant to change.
  • Act as an active and visible coach to executives and leaders who are change sponsors and champions. Collaborate with project team on change management communication plan and engagement of end users throughout project.
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify potential strategic partners that align with the company's goals and values. Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in procurement to proactively identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Implement technology solutions or tools that enhance procurement processes, such as e-procurement systems, data analytics, and automation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required.
  • Formal training or certification in project management strongly desired.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, with a focus on project management and process optimization.
  • Strong understanding of procurement methodologies, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Experience successfully managing multiple functional and technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across broad audiences, including senior-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to link strategy to clearly actionable initiatives.
  • Ability to set clear expectations and hold cross functional teams accountable to all deliverables.
  • Ability to handle ambiguous and volatile project requirements.
  • Ability to lead teams and coach team members in a matrix organization without a direct formal reporting relationship to drive for timely results.
  • Sense of urgency to deliver both short-term and long-term results.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to reach win-win solutions with internal and external partners.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Change management expertise to lead teams through process changes and drive successful adoption.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools; experience with e-procurement systems and data analytics platforms is a plus.
  • Availability for travel.
