Main Purpose of the Job: The Sr. Specialist, Inventory Optimization is a high visibility and influential role working with Supply Planners, Demand Planners, Network Planners, Factory Planners and other strategic cross-functional partners to optimize plans for non-performing inventory across finished, semi-finished and non-finished goods. This role involves analyzing inventory levels, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing strategies to enhance inventory turnover and minimize waste. The Planner will collaborate with analytics and business services teams to support decisions on inventory management and working capital strategies to further minimize waste exposure. Together you will be a part of a team that fosters growth, values insights, and empowers you to shape the future of Nestle Supply Chain. 

 

Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Assessment: Evaluating inventory levels to identify new & transition materials, non-performing items, including slow-moving, obsolete, or excess stock that does not contribute to sales or working capital across finished, semi-finished and non-finished goods. 
2. Data Analysis: Analyzing inventory data and trends to determine the causes of non-performance, using metrics such as but not limited to turnover rates, sales velocity, and carrying costs. Review different groupings of material segments to understand risk, and proactive measure to address. 
3. Reporting: Generating reports that detail inventory performance, highlighting non-performing items and providing insights into inventory management practices and providing recommendations to reduce risk. Collaborate with analytic teams to enhance current reporting or develop new where there are gaps in information.
4. Recommendations for Improvement: Develop and recommend strategies to address non-performing inventory, I&R, material segmentation and any additional areas of opportunity that could lead to waste. 
5. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Working closely with planning teams, Leadership, factory, finance and sales teams to align inventory management strategies that proactively reduce waste across the enterprise. Partner with Analytics and Business Intelligence teams to improve and develop optimization tools to quickly identify, react and solve business critical needs.
6. Inventory Optimization: Implementing inventory optimization techniques to improve overall inventory performance, reduce carrying costs, and enhance cash flow.
7. Monitoring and Tracking: Continuously monitor inventory levels and performance metrics to ensure timely identification of non-performing items and to track the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
8. Process Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management practices to minimize the occurrence of non-performing inventory in the future and standardized across enterprise.
9. Training and Support: Providing training and support to all levels on inventory analysis tools, processes and techniques, fostering a culture of endorsement and effective inventory management.


Qualifications/Certifications:
•    University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of related work experience, Production Planning, Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, or Operations experience. 
•    Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data.
•    Excellent oral and written skills, organizational and time-management abilities, effective inter-personal skills, and the ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels.
•    Flexibility and adaptability to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment.
•    Take the initiative to accomplish objectives and find opportunities for continuous improvement.
•    Ability to inspire and guide others toward goal achievement.
•    Strong computer skills with focuses on mathematical modeling and/or database building and maintenance, Coupa, Power BI, Excel, SAP and OMP/MEIO experience is preferred.
