Position Summary
JOB SUMMARY: Manages and oversees the Safety, Health and Environmental process for the Solon NDC. Ensures compliance with OHSAS, State, Federal, OSHA and Nestle requirements and programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works collectively with the site operations manager, site operations team, and NDC leadership team to champion SH&E programs and policies for NDC Solon
Maintains and updates the process description and SOP’s associated with SH&E framework
Investigate Incidents to ensure identification of root causes & action plans.
Accountable for quality of SHE data collection, and other tools for reporting, collating & analyzing data.
Stays current with Nestle and code mandated SH&E policies and adapts policies for implementation into the facility.
Identifies and executes continuous improvements initiatives related to SH&E policies and practices
Coordinate development of response plans & capability for relevant emergency situations, e.g. injuries & illnesses, fire, explosions.
Leads the sustainability efforts for the Solon NDC facility
Responsible for interfacing with campus Security and for Solon NDC Security.
Leads and organizes the Solon NDC Safety team
Organizes and ensures completion of all Safety training and SH&E SOPs
Participates as a member of the broader SH&E network and interfaces with other US center and site SH&E managers
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
A proactive independent person and is able to lead/manage/complete projects with minimal supervision. Creative and innovative with a sense of urgency and passion. There is also the opportunity to work closely with other members of site operations and NDC leadership team for guidance. The supervisor will set up a training plan, and it is the responsibility of the individual to execute the plan.
SUPERVISION GIVEN:
This individual does not have any direct reports but should be able to lead/mentor team members in projects that he/she is leading. Strong span of influence across the entire center and NDC leadership team.
FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT:
This position is in support and service of key Nestle product categories under guidance of the Food SBU – the position is key in delivering all safety KPIs and compliance programs in support of the pizza, frozen/chilled meals, and plant based meals solution categories.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):
Excellent communication skills
Ability to drive departmental priorities through strong collaboration and influencing of key stakeholders
Five to ten years experience in the Food Manufacturing Industry in a safety capacity
Proactive mindset to anticipate issues and continuously improve programs and system
Ability to perform root cause analysis and identify and implement corrective actions
