The Tax team is a part of the Nestlé finance organization responsible for all tax matters affecting the US operations, and is involved in all mergers and acquisitions, treasury, and business structuring decisions. The Tax department is a collaborative organization which works closely with legal, legislative affairs, treasury, accounting, human resources and business operations. The US Tax team may be asked to assist other tax professionals globally on cross-jurisdictional initiatives as well as the global tax functional leaders in Vevey, Switzerland.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage sales/use tax filings including data preparation and coordination with outsource provider
  • File miscellaneous local tax returns and business license renewals
  • Organize and file supporting documentation
  • Research and respond timely to notifications
  • Review state registration requirements and oversee registration completion and compliance
  • Research multistate sales/use tax questions for product taxation and purchase transaction taxability
  • Manage processes to maintain customer exemption certificates and issue purchase exemption certificates
  • Assist Audit Manager in data gathering and research to support sales/use tax audits.
  • Involvement in special projects as they arise
  • Analyze and improve current processes to obtain efficiencies

 

Requirements:  

 

  • 3+ years sales/use tax experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related Business field
  • Sales/Use Tax research/technical skills.
  • Self-motivated, team player/collaborative.
  • Highly organized with excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Ability to establish priorities of work assignments

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • CPA or Masters degree
  • Public accounting or law firm experience
  • Alteryx and Power BI (or similar tools) experience
  • SAP and Vertex experience
