POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr Capital Project Scheduler prepares and maintains integrated schedules for capital projects. This role supports the capital project team by providing project critical path methodology (CPM) schedules (level of development dependent on FEL phase) for all work packages in the capital project. The project scheduler maintains knowledge of project plans and acts to avoid or minimize deviations. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Capital Project Scheduler focuses on capital projects as their main responsibility.  Below is a list of responsibilities and accountabilities by area.  
Develop and maintain the overall integrated master schedule for the project  
Develop and maintain all project-level scheduling processes and procedures consistent with Nestle requirements and standards  
Develop “what if” scenario schedules for analysis during project development stages  
Review project plans for completeness and identify potentially omitted elements and conflicts between parallel activities 
Coordinate the scheduling activities of contractors/vendors performing project work  
Sponsor periodic schedule review and schedule prioritization meetings with the Nestle capital project team  
Assist in the resolution of scheduling differences or problems between contractor/vendor organizations, departments, or groups  
Review contractor and vendor change requests to assess the impact to schedules and the critical path of the project  
Develop schedule risk analysis models and analyze potential impacts using deterministic and probabilistic analysis methods as appropriate  
Provide schedule, resource, and key performance indictor (KPI) reporting to project teams  
Review schedules prepared by contractors to ensure the appropriate level of details and structure are applied to ensure effective progress monitoring and project control  
Review all contractor schedules for compliance with Nestlé guidelines and procedures  
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and develop comprehensive project schedules. 
Utilize project management software and tools to create, update, and maintain project schedules, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives. 
Analyze project scope, milestones, and deliverables to identify critical paths, dependencies, and potential scheduling conflicts. 
Optimize resource allocation and utilization, considering availability, skills, and project requirements, to ensure efficient project execution. 
Monitor and track project progress against the schedule, identifying deviations, delays, and potential risks, and proposing mitigation strategies. 
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project status updates, ensuring accurate and timely updates to the project schedule. 
Conduct regular schedule reviews and analysis, identifying opportunities for schedule optimization, resource leveling, and improved project efficiency. 
Communicate project schedule updates, changes, and impacts to project stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of project timelines. 
Generate and distribute project schedule reports, including Gantt charts, critical path analysis, and resource utilization reports, to support project decision-making and communication. 
Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging trends, and advancements in project scheduling methodologies and tools. 


REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field. 

 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project scheduling, preferably within the manufacturing industries 
  • Food/beverage experience with ability to challenge conventional thinking a plus 

 

SKILLS: 

  • Knowledge of and experience with multiple scheduling methodologies and appropriate applicability  
  • Knowledge of the expected schedule accuracy at each gate and the input requirements to achieve that level of performance  
  • Strong champion of transparency and detailed discipline  
  • Ability to assess and clearly articulate the level of uncertainty/risk within the prepared schedule  
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across different corporate functions and levels of management  
  • Foundational understanding of scheduling Best Practices  
  • Comfortable managing earned value/progressing data and developing processes for reporting  
  • Strong supporting member of the core project team; seen as a trusted advisor  
  • Willingness to ask questions and develop a proficient understanding of Nestle project controls and tools  
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and scheduling techniques. 
  • Proficient in using project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, to develop and maintain project schedules. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify scheduling conflicts, critical paths, and potential risks. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in schedule development and maintenance. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines. 
  • Knowledge of industrial construction processes, materials, and equipment is desirable.

The approximate pay range for this position is $78,000 to $122,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
