As the Sr Finance Manager you will act as a Co-Pilot to our Street Division/Channel Sales Leader within our Nestle Professional division.  You will be a key contributor to the achievement of objectives by being a constructive challenger and setting up processes that provide: 1) transparency and accuracy of sales financials, 2) compliance with local and Nestlé standards and 3) guidance for the optimal use of commercial resources. You will have the opportunity work with unique customers who are part of the out of home network and the full Nestle Professional portfolio of products.

In this role you will provide actionable insights and recommendations to drive business actions and achieve targets and ambitions, with a focus on Pricing, Mix and value creation elements. You will support the Nestle Professional Sales functions in developing strategies for channels (Distributors and Operators) and in implementing guidelines and best practices.  Your support can be in the form of insight, challenge, ensuring processes enable implementation of the commercial strategies.  This role has multiple direct reports and supports a business with over $800M in sales.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Customer Contracts Negotiations
    • Improve contract terms & conditions to ensure customer agreements are equitable, defensible, and measurable.
    • Work with Sales to ensure strategic negotiation process is followed.
  • Integrated Commercial Planning & Monthly Business Planning
    • Key contributor throughout all steps of the ICP Process (identify priority, confirm key initiatives, define activation guidelines and complete the yearly revenue and investment plans).
    • Work with Commercial Team to define processes to forecast volumes, allowances (trade, supply, marketing), to meet demands of annual plan
    • Participate in key forecast meetings to drive alignment for forecasting of revenue and investment assumptions vs. forecast and targets related to your division and growth targets.
    • Lead sales and sales finance organization in the adoption of the Contract Management Solution
  • Processes, Internal Control and Compliance
    • Ensure rock solid management and accounting practices for the trade investment in SAP.
    • Ensuring proper closing activities (PEC) and reconciliation of trade investment and that corrective actions are taken.
    • Custodian of processes and internal controls that ensure:
  • Application of adequate conditionality of trade investment (clear counterparts).
  • Pay-for-Performance for the commercial investment.
  • Action plans are defined / executed when detecting situations where trade investment is not defensible.
  • A Contract Optimization process is carried out.
  • Bonuses for target achievement to the sales organization are paid correctly.
  • Compliance with local legislation (e.g.: competition law).

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
  • Prior experience in Strategic Revenue Mangement or Sale Finance.
  • Participant of projects that improve efficiency and application of best practices.
  • Ability to apply sales best practices and standards (e.g.:SRM) within the commercial finance and the sales organization.
  • Able to apply local and Nestlé standards in accounting and costing related to Sales function.
  • Understanding of trade and customer landscape.
  • Good knowledge of the product portfolio, brand and customer profitability to encourage decisions that positively contribute to mix.
  • Solid working knowledge of government regulations.
  • Good understanding of value creation process to influence 7 value drivers that optimize shareholder value in a sustainable manner.
