Sustainable Sourcing Program Strategy Specialist: Helps develop the Nestle USA strategy for assigned material categories in direct procurement for GHG reduction, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable sourcing objectives. Works with business and category strategy leads to embed GHG reduction, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable sourcing objectives into Procurement strategies. Aligns Nestle USA strategy with global and regional commitments. Helps develop targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Work closely with global ESG, Zone ESG, and associated stakeholders to build pipeline for KPIs using existing tools and templates for sustainable sourcing compliance, GHG reporting, regenerative agriculture, and certifications.
Job Duties/Deliverables:
- Support the Nestle USA sustainable sourcing strategy in close collaboration with Sustainable Sourcing leadership and Procurement leadership.
- Helps develop initiatives and key cross-functional projects that meet Nestle USA brand and corporate commitments to build pipeline and support future KPI success.
- Align support and be transparent where possible across all Nestle operating companies in the U.S. market.
- Work with the category procurement teams and Business Partner teams to embed GHG reduction, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable sourcing objectives into business and Procurement strategies – including functional development, 7SSS, MBS, PDP and team objectives.
- Conduct regular communications to help develop pipeline of initiatives with internal partners and external organizations, in alignment with Nestle USA Sustainable Sourcing strategy.
- Participate in external organizations, including NGOs, government, etc. to help develop collaborative initiatives that reduce cost, enable scale, and produce needed results for Nestle USA Sustainable Sourcing strategy.
Critical Experiences/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
- 3+ years of experience in Procurement or Supply-Chain with proven success of category management or 3+ years of experience working on sustainability related topics, such as climate, water, waste, agriculture preferred.
Qualifications/Certifications:
- Exceptional business acumen, using broad-based knowledge of sourcing, procurement, supplier management processes, supplier diversity and inclusion.
- Understanding of, and passion for, business justification for diversity and inclusion of suppliers and demonstrate strong change leadership.
- Ability to interface and influence within the organization.
- Demonstrated strategic buying ability.
- Candidate must be a quick study, proven ability to adapt to change, ability to work across boundaries and boarders, strong decision making.
- Must exhibit strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as proven ability to influence at all levels in a matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical skills, and effective skills in financial, market, and vendor analysis.
