JOB SUMMARY:

  • Serve as Site Electrical Engineer - Coordinating electrical and automation engineering programs for site operations and NDC CAPEX projects. Responsible for site electrical safety programs
  • Serve as Project Engineering Manager for NDC CAPEX projects including equipment/systems installations, facility/site modifications and improvements, and utility projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support for the operation, safety, installation, and maintenance of the NDC E&A systems.
  • Final authority for the NDC on who is qualified/authorized to work on or access electrical equipment.
  • Ensures that personnel and contractors managing, operating, and maintaining E&A equipment and infrastructure are competent to do so safely and efficiently
  • Ensures safe and reliable operation of electrical systems, instrumentation, process and supervisory control, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Implement digital technologies to drive reliability and process improvements and support innovation of digital technologies.
  • Manages the scope, cost, and schedule for projects and activities assigned and selected for implementation at the NDC to be delivered with the expected quality, being on time and within budget
  • Participates in all projects and activities in the NDC that involves the E&A area, ensuring that the technical solution follows corporate and market standards
  • Ensures a strategy is in place to anticipate asset end-of-life, obsolescence, and replacement requirements.
  • Ensures that all E&A installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality standards. Ensures that the key E&A documentation is up to date and in place
  • Actively participate in the NDC sustainability objectives to generate energy savings.
  • Guide the equipment manufacturer and contractors on Nestle electrical & automation standards.
  • Responsible for the implementation and coordination of Nestle safety standards on all pilot plant and bench top equipment.
  • Responsible for ‘Contractor Safety Management’ of the on-site contractors during implementation phase of capital projects.
  • Provides the Site Engineering Manager with updates of all related work as requested.
  • Support capex cycle of NDC, by reviewing and validating equipment estimates
  • Lead in the purchase of new equipment and coordinate the installation in the site
  • Receive and ensure asset tags for all assets, physically attached, update equipment spreadsheet
  • Coordinate with finance team for the procurement, acquisition, selling and disposal of all assets. Support NQMS, NCE, NIMS, BBS, and Risk Assessments initiatives and Audits.
  • Completion of Pre-use safety checklist, Job Hazard Analysis, Risk Prediction, and Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Lead safety reviews of start-ups and new processes
  • Prioritize equipment repairs in work order system.
  • Assist with equipment training programs and create an equipment training program for operators of all Pilot Plant equipment.
  • Adhere to high sanitation, GMP, and safety standards.
  • Identify and evaluate improvement opportunities and optimize pilot plant assets and equipment.
  • Assist PM, SHE and QA Managers w/the release of any new equipment purchased or leased for the Pilot Plant.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):

  • BS degree in Engineering discipline, related field or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of technical expertise to include electrical distribution, instrumentation and automation, as well as knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution System), Digital solutions, food processing and technology and project management
  • Knowledge of process controls (both continuous and discrete), PLC, HMI, VFD, system integration required
  • Good knowledge of local electrical codes and standards
  • Strongly prefer knowledge of digital manufacturing technologies, such as networking, MES, IoT, and data analytics.
  • Positive, high-level of interpersonal communication and organization.
  • Excellent interfacing with colleagues/internal associates/plant personnel/outside vendors required.
  • Must be able to implement practical experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Computer programs including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Preventative Maintenance and Calibration Programs.
