Position Summary

Springfield is home to one of six Purina litter factories, which mass produces cellulose-based cat litter, dog litter and animal bedding. Spanning 5 acres of land in the Partnership Industrial Park (200 miles southwest of St. Louis), for 50 years we have combined the highest quality ingredients and science to even the most disposable products. The 70’s advanced into microencapsulated deodorant, by the 90’s we were clumping and scooping, and in 2000 we introduced Crystals® made from silica gel, and designed to last 30 days between changes. Innovation continues today. In 2013, Purina revolutionized the cat litter category, producing LightWeight® litter, which has all the strength, but only half the weight of conventional litter.

 

The production operator is a vital role in the success of our factory.  In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating manual packaging equipment, paper feed equipment, sorting conveyors, and operating heavy machinery to maximize quality and productivity. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Setting up, adjusting and operating the paper feed equipment, sorting conveyors, and packaging equipment.
  • Operating forklifts and front-end loader equipment as necessary for production operations.
  • Performing quality checks as required by position 
  • Interacts with SAP when consuming materials
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of manufacturing experience, military experience, or experience in a fast-paced work environment
