Here's a breakdown of what the big picture entails for this program:

Nestlé USA’s Manufacturing Leadership Development Program (MLDP) is a 12-month development program that provides the opportunity for select individuals to gain real world experience and an understanding of Technical & Production at Nestlé USA with a focus in leadership development. Designed with the full support of executive leadership, this program will allow trainees to gain experience in various factory functions including Engineering and Maintenance, Finance, Human Resources, Industrial Performance, Production, Safety, Health & Environmental, Supply Chain and Quality Assurance.

During the first nine months of the program, our trainee will spend time in all of the functional areas listed above to understand the role that each function plays within the factory. Upon completing the rotational portion of the program, our trainee and a member of the business will align on post program placement and career aspirations.  Trainees interested in a career path towards Factory/Production Management, Maintenance Management or Warehouse Management will be placed in factory supervisor positions and will continue to be supported by the Development Program for an additional year, benefiting from continued focused development, job placement, and mentorship. You are the future leader of our business! This program is designed to put you on the fast track to a management position within one of our factories.

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Learn a variety of the leadership concepts, practices, and procedures that will allow you to rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish your goals
  • Supervise and coordinate the execution of production schedules
  • Ensure the flow of materials, parts and resources necessary for production
  • Plan methods to improve efficiency in production and be assigned production improvement tasks
  • Develop detailed project scopes that account for operational impact
  • Master plant process flows, utility flows, capacities, procedures and practices

 

Locations:

  • Willing to relocate to one of more of our various factory locations across Nestlé USA for the duration of the program. Location options include:
    • Springville, UT
    • Mt. Sterling, KY
    • Burlington, WI

 

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Safety Management, Food Science, Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Completion of the required degree by June 2024
  • GPA of 3.0 and above preferred

Experience:

  • Prior internship or co-op experience; manufacturing experience; student organization and/or other leadership experience preferred
  • Previous problem-solving experience with tangible results

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical skillset for data tracking and results analysis
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Demonstrate outstanding learning capabilities
  • Ability to deliver results on challenging assignments

 

Additional Requirements: 

  • Comfortable leading people in various capacities in a factory
  • Willing to relocate to any Nestlé USA factory after completing the program
  • Able to work any shift, including second or third shift as required throughout program experiences
  • Willing to work in facilities where ambient conditions may be very cold, wet or warm
