Position Summary

 

Our Nestlé Development Center (NDC) in St. Joseph, MO is home to confident, well socialized dogs and cats who help us learn, research, and better understand the well-being of pets and promote the human animal bond. You'll work alongside a team passionate about pet care that ensures our pets have the best quality of care while participating in cutting edge pet food research. Our center is located near the metropolitan area of Kansas City, within 30 minutes of the Kansas City International airport. St. Joseph is a tight-knit, rural community packed with character, still within commuting distance to the city thus, providing many residential opportunities.

 

As a Compliance Specialist in the Quality and Applied Sciences department, you’ll support functional programs at the NDC by ensuring compliance with ISO and Nestlé standards. Come prepared to manage and enforce Food Safety and Quality programs to prepare the site for audits, ensuring adherence to regulations, maintaining quality standards, and minimizing compliance risks.

 

  • Update quality procedures and tools, organize annual reviews, and foster a quality culture with training programs for site associates
  • Work with the quality leadership team to support operational objectives
  • Oversee preventive and corrective actions, including documentation and root cause analysis, while participating in internal audits
  • Support the site in execution and management of a document management system
  • Act as the Change Management coordinator, ensuring all critical changes are managed before implementation
  • Engage in site compliance with company policies and procedures, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  • Aid in Food Safety risk assessments and conduct pilot HACCP studies, providing necessary training and workshops
  • Help manage external pest control contractors and participate in monthly meetings with Nestlé Pest control champions

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (biology, chemistry, food science, etc.) OR 4+ years of equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience in an operational compliance and/or quality role in a laboratory or manufacturing environment

 

Other

  • 1+ years of experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and/or FSSC 22000 standards is preferred
  • 1+ years of food safety experience is preferred

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $55,000.00 to $93,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with Company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
