Position Summary

As a PetCare Manager within the Purina Technology Center (PTC), you’re responsible for resource planning and strategic focus to ensure the palatability, behavior and nutritional trials meet the requirements of the requesting scientists. To do so, you’ll develop and lead a team of high-performing staff responsible for the day-to-day operations of the PetCare Facility

 

 

  • Knowledge of, and compliance with, the Animal Welfare Act and all procedures and protocols in the Nestlé Purina R&D Pet Care Manual
  • Leadership of facility staff including coordination of work
  • Provide coaching and counseling to monitor employee performance and guide employee training and development
  • Responsible for the care and welfare of the pets
  • Plan, develop and manage an appropriate pet population to support all types of pet research
  • Foster an environment where both optimal physical and mental well-being of the pets is achieved within the two facilities
  • Communicate with other Nestlé Purina Pet Care Centers world-wide
  • Responsible for adherence to Nestec requirements for Capital and Operating Budgets established for the Pet Care groups
  • Ensure compliance with Nestle Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in the work area
  • Ensure safety and compliance with company policies and procedures by group members
  • Represent Nestle Purina expertise to key industry, customer and Influential visitors at the Pet Care Centers
  • Ensure implementation of appropriate information technology commensurate with a state-of-the-art research facility

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Animal Behavior, or related Sciences preferred
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of government and R&D requirements for using animals in research
  • Knowledge of government and R&D requirements for Good Laboratory Practices and the use of chemicals in the workplace
