Position Summary

For thirty years, Nestlé Purina has been proud to call St. Joseph, MO home to two facilities, a wet pet food factory and our Product Technology Center (PTC) dedicated to research and development. The PTC is home to dogs and cats who help us learn, research, and better understand the well-being of pets all while enjoying the best quality of life. As a Veterinarian, you will be responsible for daily operation within Veterinary Clinic and Veterinary health program of our pets. You will plan, organize and perform all necessary veterinary procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of the pets and procedures as required in nutrition research protocols.

• Perform all necessary veterinary procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of the pets including documentation of vaccine records, prophylactic programs, clinical diagnostics, and treatment documentation
• Knowledge and compliance of the Animal Welfare Act and all procedures and protocols within the Nestlé R&D Petcare manual
• Ensure proper record retention policy is followed in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act
• Perform procedures as required under nutritional research protocols
• Provide additional training to vets and pet care staff for appropriate pet care

Requirements

• Doctor in Veterinary Medicine degree
• Valid veterinary license for the State of Missouri or the ability to obtain the license
• 1+ years of experience professional veterinary experience

Other

• USDA accreditation is preferred
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary research environment

The approximate pay range for this position is $119,665.00 to $164,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
