Position Summary

 

We’re a leader in the pet care category and part of the world’s largest food company—so you can imagine our salesforce is BIG. In pet care, we focus our sales efforts within the retail and veterinary sales channels to ensure we’re at the forefront of consumers’ minds. You’ll become the expert in our products and the face behind Purina brands to your customers—some of the most well recognized and loved brands around the world.

 

As an Account Manager, you’re responsible for joint business planning with customers to drive volume, profit, and share growth within the pet care category. You’ll become a subject matter expert with eCommerce strategies and tactics, but most importantly, you’ll leverage the support of your best-in-class team to share the excitement of growing the business. Within the trusted partnership between your teams and the retailers, you’ll work closely with key decision makers and utilizing category management initiatives and implementing digital, shelf, shopper, and media partnerships.

 

  • Lead the category with best-in-class eContent and omni-enabled expertise
  • Proactively monitor and update the customer's overall business plan, managing trade budgets, spending, and volume to achieve all sales objectives versus plan
  • Conduct post event analysis to evaluate promotional volume, consumption, profit, and spending results
  • Develop accurate monthly forecasts (project annual sales volume and margin contribution) by analyzing shipment, consumption, and inventory trends
  • Seek profitable opportunities to grow incremental volume and evaluate potential risks or threats to forecasts
  • Employ sound category leadership practices to connect consumer and shopper insights/trends and opportunities.
  • Leverage Customer Marketing resources to develop and implement collaborative marketing programs in alignment with brand and customer strategies
  • Understand Nestlé Purina Pet Care's brand strategies and implement them by working closely with the customer's key decision makers including buyers, category managers, merchandising leaders, etc.
  • Lead the development of annual customized customer “go to market” programs

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, business development or category development activity with a manufacturer, distributor, or retail operations required

 

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Finance is preferred
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% as business needs require

 

Theapproximate payrange for this position is $95,000 to $162,000.Please note that thepay rangeprovided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
