Position Summary

 

Quality Assurance andthe Nestlé Purina Analytical Laboratories department is comprised of talented individuals who possess a genuine love for pets and their families. As an Associate Chemist in our Inorganic laboratory, you’ll conduct specific procedures and tests within the laboratory requiring the use of applied knowledge and practical skills learned. You and your team of experts will conduct routine analytical tasks with support and supervision, ensuring accuracy in results.

 

  • Perform and document routine tasks related to sample processing and assays using written operating procedures, standard laboratory methods, basic laboratory techniques, functions, and equipment
  • Prepare all reagents and standards as needed and document all that is required in a GLP & ISO laboratory
  • Assist in the calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment, following established protocols
  • Support the development and validation of basic analytical methods
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records in accordance with established procedures
  • Assist in literature searches and stay updated with basic publications in the field
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting procedures as outlined in operating procedures and instrument control plans
  • Participate in internal meetings, providing information and explanation to reach agreement on tasks and procedures

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
  • 1+ years of analytical lab or industry experience, analytical instrumentation experience, and troubleshooting of assay and equipment issues

 

Other

  • 6+ months of experience with operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation including Ion Chromatography (IC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), and/or Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) instruments is preferred 
  • Must be willing to work Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM

The approximate pay range for this position is $50,000.00 to $73,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with Company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
