Position Summary

A position with the Legal Group for Nestlé Purina PetCare Company in St. Louis, Missouri focusing on commercial contracts and other transactional matters. The successful candidate should be able to provide sound and timely legal advice to Nestlé Purina personnel on a day-to-day basis for a consumer products company with a pet care orientation.


As an Associate Counsel, you will be responsible for a broad range of legal matters, interacting with multi-level members of management, and accomplishing various legal tasks with moderate supervision. In this position, you will be part of a hands-on legal team and be able to flex and adapt to change as well as work well within a group and an integral part of a large corporation. 

 

  • Direct engagement with business clients to discuss proposed transactions 
  • Draft and negotiate agreements ·
  • Counsel clients regarding proposed transactions, transaction structures, typical approaches, relevant contractual clauses, and points of negotiation ·
  • Work with department colleagues to understand their subject matter expertise/perspective on relevant issues

Requirements 

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • License to practice law in the State of Missouri or an equivalent state to be able to obtain Missouri in-house counsel license 
  • 2+ years transactional and commercial contracting legal experience either with a law firm or in-house counsel position with another company

Other 

  • Travel up to 10% as business needs require
