Position Summary

 

The Nestlé Purina Engineering Co-op is a development program that provides the opportunity for select individuals to gain real world experience and an understanding of technical and production operations at Nestlé Purina. The Co-op program consists of a one semester experience [3-4 months] intended to build capability and understanding of the core Engineering functions at Nestlé Purina.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Engineering Co-op, you will receive an exciting introduction to the world of Nestlé Purina and collaborate with various departments working together to make our products. You will have the opportunity to participate in capital projects including the greenfield factory in Williamsburg Township, OH. The co-op may provide you with the unique experience of participating in the startup and commissioning processes. Collaborating with the project management and factory teams to lead and execute deliverables will allow you to acquire deep insight and understanding of Engineering within a manufacturing environment.

 

As you progress through your university courses and work experiences, you will learn and grow as an Engineer while delivering results for Nestlé Purina through key projects, systems, and people at our new factory site in Williamsburg Township. Some of the skills and knowledge that Nestlé Purina will work to develop in our co-op students:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strategic project planning and execution in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical skillset for data tracking and results analysis
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Learning agility and problem-solving
  • Ability to deliver results on challenging assignments

 

LOCATION

  • Nestlé Purina factory in Williamsburg Township, OH, or Nestlé Purina headquarters in St. Louis, MO
  • Temporary relocation and housing will be provided as needed for the duration of the co-op

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current status as a college sophomore or higher pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Willing to work approximately 40 hours per week for the duration of the co-op
  • Availability to complete co-op in the fall term of 2025 (August-December)
  • Flexible to work from the Nestlé Purina factory site in Williamsburg Township, OH, or Nestlé Purina headquarters in St. Louis, MO
  • Willing to travel to different Nestlé Purina site(s) as necessary

 

Additional Considerations

  • Comfortable working with people in various capacities in a factory
  • Able to work any shift, including second or third shift as required throughout program experience
  • Open to working in facilities where ambient conditions may be very cold, wet or warm

The approximate pay for this position is $25.00 per hour. Please note that the pay rate provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
