Position Summary:
Data Engineering is at the center of all we do. As a Lead Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our data ecosystem, ensuring we remain a leader in our field while making a lasting impact on our long-standing legacy.
As the Lead Data Engineer you will act as the technical lead for a data product team focused on a specific data domain. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring data products built by the team are supported by resilient, monitored, production-grade data pipelines and incorporated into Purina’s enterprise data model to deliver value to the business. Through collaboration with other data engineers across Purina’s data team, you will drive adoption of engineering best practices to further the maturity of Purina’s data engineering capability.
- Serve as the technical lead for a data product team focused on a specific business data domain
- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable data pipelines to move, transform, and harmonize source data into data products ready for consumption by end users, applications, and other data product teams
- Ensure adherence to Purina’s data engineering and architectural standards
- Monitor performance of data pipelines developed and owned within the assigned data domain
- Create and champion the adoption of best practices within our data engineering guild
- Coach and mentor other data engineers
- Collaborate with other engineers and architects to improve the data enterprise data platform
- Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to develop long-term data product roadmaps
- Collaborate with stakeholders and data product team members to define data product requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 7+ years of professional experience with 5+ of those years in practical, hands-on data engineering
- 4+ years of experience in cloud ecosystems (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and working with Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
- 2+ years experience coding with Python using PySpark or similar coding experience that focuses on data processing and analysis with professional code management and deployment tools
- 1+ year of mentorship and/or leadership experience
The approximate pay range for this position is $116,000.00 to $168,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
