Position Summary

The Hive is a centralized, multi-disciplinary team at Nestle Purina Pet Care that enables data and analytics evolution through strategy, literacy, use-case orchestration, products and services including data-as-a-product and data science. 


You will be responsible for the design, configuration, and maintenance of the technology and platforms used to deliver data and analytics to the Purina Business teams. You will join two existing senior Azure platform engineers and support the efforts of a 30 person data engineering team. You will work with the team to ensure functionality of the Azure platform and provide proof of concepts for new technologies.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in technical build outs and remediate technology issues ensuring production environments are performing and secure.
  • Providing advice on platform improvements, optimization, and upgrades and create documentation of all platform design and analysis work
  • Supporting platform development and technology architecture selection activities 
  • Assessing new technologies and develop strategies for bringing new tech online.
  • Providing specifications for hardware and software
  • Providing architectural and design consulting for new use case scenarios for tools, technologies, and patterns
  • Ensuring tech aligns with the overall Nestle guidelines and platform security and compliance.
  • Participates in vendor and new technology evaluation, selection, and integration 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience within data management disciplines using cloud-based technologies
  • Proficiency within Microsoft Azure toolsets (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Lake Storage)
  • Familiarity with compliance and controls for software development and deployment
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, M-Query (Power Query), and Windows batch commands

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another related field
  • Microsoft DevOps framework
