Position Summary
As a Sustainable Sourcing Specialist, you’ll activate Nestlé sustainable sourcing framework within the Nestlé Purina North America business to deliver on Nestlé’s sustainable sourcing ESG requirements for seafood and human rights goals in seafood supply chains. Working collaboratively with procurement teams and key suppliers to monitor, track, and report advancements in traceability of raw materials, human rights, fisheries health, codes of conduct, and other critical areas – this implementation will take place across all fish and seafood ingredients purchases by Nestlé Purina North America, Purina Europe, Purina South & Latin Americas, and Nestlé Global procurement teams.
- Lead the implementation of Nestlé’s Seafood ESG Guidelines
- Lead the implementation of Nestlé’s Seafood Human Rights Issues Action Plans
- Connect internally with various departments on topics related to sustainability and human rights efforts and progress
- Serve as the primary contact externally for stakeholders on human rights topics related to Nestlé’s standards and commitments
- Engage in internal and external communication opportunities to raise awareness of Nestlé Purina’s sustainability actions and progress goals to demonstrate Purina’s commitment to sustainability and while building credibility with stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and management of the Sustainability Stakeholder Strategy providing insights gained from external engagement related to your work in order to help guide the company forward on stakeholder engagement
- Report progress annually to local and global teams
- Assist with other Purina sustainability initiatives assigned by the VP of Sustainable Sourcing
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental (Preferably in Aquatic Science, Nature Conservation, or Environmental Sustainability); Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years working in or closely with the seafood sector or seafood supply chains preferred
