Position Summary


Your larger team – the Golden Products Technical Applications group – brings to life products, engineering, and technical solutions through collaboration and cross-functional teamwork. As a Packaging Specialist, you will provide leadership and support in the areas of packaging design, packaging development, operational capability, technical evaluations, training, etc. to meet divisional needs for packaging used in Litter Products [plastic (rigid & flexible), paper, corrugated, etc.). Additionally, assist the division in taking advantage of Nestlé’s worldwide technological know-how in packaging and actively support Nestle’s Sustainability commitments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and develop packaging and packaging systems to support innovation & renovation from concept through industrialization.
  • Work closely with Production and Procurement on the development, set-up, and communication of packaging specifications.
  • Provide Technical Packaging support to a wide variety of internal customer groups
  • Including; Marketing, R&D, Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Production and Finance.
  • Lead and/or support divisional packaging sustainability efforts and assist in longer term strategy development to keep us on track with commitments.
  • Support/Lead qualification and testing of new packaging materials and vendors.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and internal lab on defining and developing test methods.
  • Support/Lead continuous improvement efforts for packaging and/or packaging lines at Golden Products production facilities.
  • Support/Lead the identification and development of new packaging technologies. Includes collaboration with Engineering & Operations to evaluate options, develop recommendations, and write standards.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, packaging, engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of packaging or plastic experience in formats such as flexible, ridged, cartons, multi-wall bags, consumer products, industrial, pharmaceutical and/or medical devices.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 30-40% of the time
