Position Summary
As a Lead Procurement Category Manager, you will drive and manage sourcing strategies for cereals and grains (corn, wheat, rice, soybean). You will directly support the execution of Nestlé Purina’s strategic sourcing process in the North American market enabling value generation through cost improvements to company business units. In your role, you will lead cost improvement projects while ensuring supply and sustainable sourcing compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies and sustainable sourcing practices aligned with the business plan
- Leverage agricultural commodity expertise in futures, hedging and basis trading
- Identify, analyze and present relevant market, industry and supplier data to inform critical business decisions
- Negotiate favorable outcomes while navigating ambiguous situations and supply chain challenges
- Manage category budgeting, price forecasting and cost savings tracking
- Initiate communication with cross-functional partners, stakeholders and functional leadership teams within the Nestlé Purina organization and cultivate strong relationships with business partner networks
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field
- 7+ years of procurement category management, sourcing or equivalent experience
