Position Summary

We planted our roots in St. Louis home back in 1894. As the Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Commodities/Ingredients), you will be is the owner of your designated categories.  You will be responsible for creating, influencing, and implementing sourcing strategies on a local level including new or changing items, P2P (Procure to Pay) channel management, and leading supplier relationship management. You will have ownership over ensuring supply strategies for your categories short and long-term, data collection and analysis, and conveying local requirements to Business Partners, Functional Partners, and Above Market Category Sourcing teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of local material risk mitigation plans and sourcing strategies 
  • Provide the Above Market Category team with information and requirements gathered through the daily business and align on strategic sourcing plans
  • Perform any data retrieval, analysis and representation required, mapping how ordering and channels work within the locations serviced and identify improvements to be targeted
  • Interface with local suppliers to assist with supplier development, supplier relationship management, or supplier switch out activities to support the sourcing strategy
  • Assure localized requirements are communicated to supply base
  • Integrate innovation, renovation and post award cost improvement elements from suppliers and the local business into all in scope functional or site/production processes
  • Support future scenario planning for the business for your owned categories
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree 
  • 3+ years’ purchasing, strategic sourcing, procurement, customer service, sales, finance, logistics or related supply chain experience
