Position Summary

The Golden Products Division of Nestle Purina PetCare is the largest litter company. Golden Products is focused on continuing to expand its market leadership position by delighting consumers through the development and commercialization of innovative products. The Golden Products Pilot Plant and Laboratory team plays a critical support role in the advancement of products, processes, and packaging for the business. 

 

As the Technician for the Technical Applications Group (TAG), you’ll specifically be responsible for performing physical/chemical/packaging testing and executing the operation of pilot plant request. You will be working in a pilot plant environment that will include moderate physical activity, working in a lab running/maintaining equipment, and partnering with project leaders on projects and trial needs.

 

  • Performs routine and non-routine packaging/physical and chemical testing demonstrating good lab practices with an efficient mindset (including maintaining and troubleshooting equipment)
  • Responsible for the execution of pilot plant request with adhering to good manufacturing practices (including setup, operating, troubleshooting, and cleaning process equipment) 
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Conduct and provide input for internal audits (Quality/Operational)
  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including SHE, NGMP, and NGLP in the GP lab and pilot plant operations
  • Provide support for the continued execution of NCE within the pilot plant-lab team
  • Required to use PIT/PED equipment 
  • Travel required as necessary to support industrial trials with minimal supervision

 

Skills

  • Collaboration/Communication Skills – this role provides support to many groups & functions. The ability to communicate effectively with project team members is essential
  • Organization Skills – this role requires a strong sense of prioritization to accomplish tasks and maintain a high level of productivity

 

Requirements 

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent with 5+ years’ experience in a lab or operational environment OR Technical/Vocational Degree with 3+ years’ experience in a lab or operational environment
  • 1+ years’ experience with Excel, Minitab, or QSTAT is preferred
  • 1+ years’ experience working for a Consumer Product Goods (CPG) company in a manufacturing/factory environment is preferred
  • Travel required as necessary to support industrial trials with minimal supervision
