Position Summary

It’s more than a quality product in a quality package. It’s more than driving sales and revenue. It’s about educating consumers on how to enhance the relationship with their pets. Or how they can feed their pet to minimize allergies. It’s about making pet food, snacks, and litter a shopping experience. And contributing to the world in such a way that we can impact the chances of every dog or cat living a healthier life. As a Product Owner you will provide platform, product and customer experience leadership in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will need to rapidly translate business needs into reality. You will be responsible for bringing to life the vision, building the backlog, technical capabilities and roadmap of Purina’s first ecosystem mobile app. You will engage with various internal stakeholders to shape business and product requirements into platform requirements. You will create and prioritize a roadmap to release this application, drive product development, make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, maintain the product roadmap, and clearly communicate goals. 

 

  • Create user stories and other required input and direction to the Scrum team; own the backlog and keeping the team fully engaged building the highest priority features and enhancements
  • Prioritize tradeoffs and understand constraints, and finding elegant solutions to complex problems
  • Communicate status, priorities, strategies, and success metrics to business stakeholders
  • Organize and facilitate standard agile ways of working including research planning, capability needs, product roadmap, release communication, and budget management
  • Ensure initiatives meet stated business goals and solutions are delivered with quality
  • Measure post-delivery performance and optimize to drive customer experience benefit
  • Leverage consumer insights, market research, analytics and data science to identify opportunities and drive initiatives to support refining mobile app user experiences
  • Drive continual product improvements and inform the product roadmap with new ideas based on ongoing customer research, market/competitive analysis, and product performance indicators

 

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED equivalent with 5+ years of experience as an agile product owner, or digital product lead working directly with a software development team OR  a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience as an agile product owner, or digital product lead working directly with a software development team required. 
  • Experience with delivering and driving performance for a digital product or mobile application preferred.
  • Experience authoring user stories and business requirement documents for implementation by software development teams.
  • Experience evaluating UX wireframes and UI deliverables, familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to decompose product roadmap and backlog items into epics, features, and user stories for agile development .
  • Knowledge pulling data and creating insights with various UX and web analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Usabilla, SessionCam, etc.
