POSITION SUMMARY

 

Your larger team – the Technical Applications Group – creates the flavors, shapes, and textures often developed in marketing and brought to life through innovative engineering. In your role as a Manufacturing Applications Engineer, you will make key contributions in Wet Pet Food Processing technology. Become a vital member of our collaborative, dynamic team of industry experts and see the direct impact you will have on the lives of pets and owners.
 

Although you will often work independently in your role (depending on level of experience), much of your time will be spent working collaboratively in cross-functional teams on innovation and renovation projects, capacity expansion projects, and continuous improvement projects. We’ll count on you to leverage your sharp engineering background and experience with food production to help us develop modern equipment, concepts, and techniques that take our products from concept to shelf. 
 

  • Conduct pilot scale experiments, industrial scale trial runs, and first saleable production runs with new equipment, processes, and/or products.
  • Develop or refine document processing equipment standards and routines for both new and existing equipment.
  • Effectively contribute within a cross-functional team environment, inclusive of specialists within Product Development, Marketing, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Packaging, Finance, etc. 
  • Collaborate with Corporate Engineering and R&D to establish and formalize project priorities, technical requirements, timelines, and budgets. 
  • Ensure compliance with divisional standards during the design and construction phases of new capability or capacity expansion projects, while coordinating site acceptance testing of key equipment to confirm adherence to technical performance criteria.
  • Lead or support the commissioning, qualification, and validation of new processing equipment/systems/lines for new or existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical/mechanical/ food science engineering or a related technical field
  • 2+ years of experience working with food or chemical processing within an industrial, manufacturing, production, or related environment

Other

  • This position will require the ability to travel up to 60%. 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000-$125,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
