As a Scientist Packaging, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge packaging materials and functional solutions, with a specific focus on retort, flexible, and rigid barrier packaging. Your responsibilities will encompass planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of research and development activities. Join our dynamic team and contribute to shaping the future of packaging innovation.

 

  • Serve as a technical leader, providing packaging insights and solutions for projects, both as a project leader and team member
  • Lead assigned projects, ensuring effective project leadership, planning, organization, and execution of trials and experiments
  • Collaborate as a member of cross-functional teams, contributing to project implementation and providing operational training during hand-off from development to start-up
  • Drive innovation by developing new packages, materials, and packaging concepts in response to requests from Markets and the Strategic Business Unit
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with global technology leaders in barrier packaging materials and technologies, translating opportunities into competitive packaging solutions
  • Demonstrate technical leadership in pet food packaging, identifying and implementing technology to enhance manufacturing performance
  • Effectively communicate findings through oral presentations and timely written technical documentation and reports
  • Foster relationships with the global packaging community in Purina, Nestlé, and the packaging industry to identify innovation and business opportunities

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Packaging, Materials Science or related field
  • 3+ years of professional experience including 1+ years of experience in food packaging materials and structures

  • Travel as needed

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $79,000 to $109,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
