Position Summary
Our service professionals possess exceptional foresight and together, make up our reliable Site Services team. This team proactively identifies opportunities and solutions, often before we even realize what we need. As a Porter for our Site Services set up team, you will play a vital part in setting up spaces for internal meetings and events by delivering and organizing necessary furniture and accessories as requested.
- Pick up and/or deliver furniture and accessories, boxes, and other miscellaneous items
- Provide general oversight of furniture and other assets released for company use, including cleaning and inspection prior to loading or delivering
- Drive truck for campus deliveries and specialty coordination items
- Loading and unloading of furniture and other assets either manually or with a forklift as well as assisting with fulfillment of daily work orders.
- Coordination of removal and disposal of expired or damaged company assets including furniture
- Assist with the maintenance of the warehouse and furniture including cleaning, organizing and delivering as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in material handling, event set up, and/or portering
Other
- Must be DOT qualified or become qualified within 30 days of hire, and keep all licenses including a Class E license and other required documents current
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. Buddy lift techniques may be utilized.
- 1+ years of experience with Herman Miller Furniture is preferred
- Experience with SAP is preferred
After the 31st day of employment you must become and remain a member in good standing in the union.
The approximate hourly pay for this position is $25.27. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
