Nestlé Purina PetCare Global Resources, Inc. seeks a Principal Engineer R&D in St. Louis, MO
Duties: Responsible for planning, organizing and performing the necessary trials and experiments as required to deliver the packaging engineering projects that meet the requirements of the client companies and SBU and are delivered in a timely manner. Provide package engineering technical input and assistance within the Center and externally as required on a wide variety of projects. Participate and contribute as a member of cross-functional teams as assigned. Interface on project implementation teams by assisting with hand-off from development through start-up and providing operational training as required. Providing effective project leadership for the projects assigned Fulfilling all requirements of the StageGate/Product Development Process and Nestec regarding “absolute” deliverables for each phase. Complete all required documentation and project reporting in a timely manner culminating in the Preliminary Manufacturing Dossier. Ensuring all appropriate documents and project records are filed in the Central Project Files, whether paper or electronic. Effectively communicate results through oral presentations and timely, written technical documentation and reports. Collaborate with the SBU and Markets, develop packaging strategies and issue briefs for packaging development. Propose equipment solutions to implement innovative package opportunities that are applicable to Nestlé business strategy. Provide technical leadership to create original,
differentiating technology with a high level of ability to apply relevant scientific knowledge to packaging systems. Modify and improve the functionality, as well as performance of existing and new packing systems in collaboration with global Nestlé Purina Petcare markets and machinery suppliers. Assist Nestlé Purina Petcare markets in the selection, specification, procurement, commissioning, and operation of packaging equipment. Benchmark the performance and efficiency of filling and packaging lines. Ensure that packaging machine development projects are managed in an efficient way. Domestic and International travel required up to 10% of time. Telework available upon request up to 1 day per week.
Requirements:
Job requires Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields plus Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in research engineering. Required experience must include each of the following:
- 5 years of experience in mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems;
- 5 years of experience in broad range of machinery;
- 5 years of experience in packaging materials, food science and food processing equipment;
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations;
- 5 years of experience in creating original differentiating technology;
- 5 years of experience in a technical lead role.
Domestic and International travel required up to 10% of time. Telework available upon request up to 1 day per week.
