Position Summary

 

As a Procurement Category Specialist, you will develop short-term and long-term sourcing strategies for cereals and grains (corn, soybean, wheat, rice). You will support the execution of Nestlé Purina’s strategic sourcing process in the North American market enabling value generation through cost improvements to company business units. In your role, you will assist with bulk transportation logistics and ensure product supply through sustainable sourcing tactics.

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with the business plan
• Cultivate strong relationships with business partners and suppliers
• Identify and analyze relevant market, industry and supplier data to inform critical business decisions
• Provide logistics support for rail and trucking bulk transportation
• Assist with category budgeting, price forecasting and cost savings tracking
• Negotiate favorable outcomes while navigating ambiguous situations and supply chain challenges
• Maintain communication with cross-functional partners, stakeholders and functional leadership teams within the Nestlé Purina organization

Requirements
• Associate's Degree
• 2+ years of strategic sourcing, customer service, sales, finance, logistics or related procurement experience
