Position Summary
As Senior Expert Engineer Industrial Services (Refrigeration), you will provide advanced technical leadership and subject matter expertise for refrigeration, cooling, hygienic air handling and related utility systems across Nestlé and Nestlé Purina factories in North America. You will work closely with factory and project teams to understand operating needs, identify risks and opportunities, and develop solutions that are safe, reliable, maintainable, energy efficient and appropriate for the business needs. In this role, you will translate complex technical requirements into clear recommendations, standards and project deliverables that can be successfully applied in the field. You will support projects and operating facilities from early problem definition through design, commissioning, startup and sustained operation.
- Serve as a trusted technical partner to factory, market and project teams for industrial refrigeration (ammonia and CO₂), cooling, hygienic air handling, and related utility systems
- Lead technical problem definition and resolution for complex or recurring refrigeration issues
- Develop, maintain and deploy refrigeration standards, user required specification (URS) templates, design guides, application methodologies, equipment technology standards, operating tools and technical playbooks that are clear, usable and adaptable to different factory applications
- Provide refrigeration technical leadership for capital projects from concept through handover and sustainment
- Advance refrigeration safety and compliance by integrating ammonia and CO₂ safety expectations, hygienic zoning, food safety requirements, process safety, risk management, incident learning and audit readiness into engineering and operating decisions
- Improve refrigeration performance and sustainability by identifying opportunities in system reliability, energy use, controls, maintenance, heat recovery, natural refrigerants, low global warming potential (GWP) technologies, modernization and lifecycle cost
- Build capability across the network by coaching engineers and factory teams, developing practical learning materials, facilitating expert networks, onboarding partners and converting project and incident experience into reusable guidance
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in refrigeration, utilities, capital projects, sustainability and/or technical leadership in a manufacturing, industrial or related environment
OTHER
- Must be willing to travel approximately 30%-50% to meet business needs
Salary: $149,789.70 to $205,067.00 per year
Bonus Eligibility: Yes
The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
