Position Summary

 

As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will serve as a critical technical leader responsible for the design, development and optimization of end-to-end systems in the production of wet and dry pet foods, pet treats and cat litter. Your scope could encompass all operations—from raw ingredient unloading through final product packaging. You will leverage your expertise in food processing technologies to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality manufacturing outcomes.

 

  • Lead the planning, execution and coordination of complex packaging engineering functions across multiple capital projects and deliver innovative solutions in integrated food processing unit operations
  • Provide detailed packaging design and engineering support throughout the lifecycle of capital initiatives including process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), equipment specifications and system layouts
  • Champion seamless design integration with broader project goals including cost, schedule, safety and quality
  • Evaluate vendor proposals for alignment with performance and compliance standards and direct third-party engineering firms, original equipment manufacturers (OEM), and other external partners to ensure design excellence and on-time project delivery
  • Collaborate closely with standards, quality assurance, operations, maintenance and capital engineering teams to ensure that process systems support innovation, food safety and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Confirm that all designs and process changes adhere to company standards, industry best practices, food safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience in packaging systems design and project execution in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment

OR

  • Associate’s degree in applicable technical discipline with 7+ years of experience in packaging systems design and project execution in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment

 

OTHER 

  • Must be willing to travel approximately 30% or more to meet business needs

 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
