Position Summary

 

Quality Assurance and Nestlé Purina Analytical Laboratories department is comprised of talented individuals who possess a genuine love for pets and their families. As a Sr. Expert Chemist, you’ll be responsible for the alternative analytical methods program for Nestlé Purina Zone Americas, ensuring its integration across various factory locations. Come prepared to develop training programs for team members and ensure the successful implementation of our alternative testing methods across factories.

 

  • Support factories in-line system adoption by enabling rapid deployment and validation of instrumentation
  • Coordinate with vendors and factories to ensure sustainability of the alternative methods program and fleet of instrumentation deployed
  • Update calibration models and develop additional models
  • Design and build automated testing program to enable speed of analysis and minimize errors in testing submissions
  • Collaborate with researchers and scientists to scope and prepare joint proposals for research and development opportunities incorporating data modelling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence
  • Manage calibration processes for various materials to enable quick on-site testing for acceptance or refusal of ingredients
  • Conduct extensive investigations to understand the root causes of complex and undefined problems
  • Collaborate with teams to research and develop additional bench or inline technology to agilely and boldly enable the business

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
  • 8+ years of overall experience in an analytical laboratory setting
  • 4+ years of experience developing and implementing analytical methods
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership capacity

 

Other

  • 2+ years of experience working with sensor or chemometric projects is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with multivariate analysis is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with mid or near infrared spectroscopy is preferred
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in data analysis is preferred
  • Must be willing to travel 40% of the time

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $121,000.00 to $175,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with Company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
