POSITION SUMMARY

Quality Assurance and the Nestlé Purina Analytical Laboratories department is comprised of talented individuals who possess a genuine love for pets and their families. As a Senior Quality Technician on the Inorganic Chemistry team at the Nestlé Purina Analytical Laboratories (NPAL), you’ll perform routine tasks and testing using written operating procedures, standard laboratory methods, and/or basic laboratory techniques, functions, and equipment. 

• Conduct routine analytical testing and report results for inorganic samples including sugars, heavy metals, minerals, polyphosphates, etc. 
• Prepare all reagents and standards while keeping required documentation in a GLP & ISO laboratory 
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting procedures as outlined in operating procedures and instrument control plans 
• Coordinate and plan assigned work with other technicians and scientists with one team mentality 
• Prepare and analyze customer-submitted materials, ensuring accuracy and quality 
• Assist, train, and mentor lower-level employees within the job area 

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• 5+ years of professional work experience including at least 1+ years of laboratory related experience (higher educational degree is substitutable for years of experience) 

Other 

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field is preferred 
• 6+ months of experience with operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation including Ion Chromatography (IC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), and/or Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) instruments is preferred  
• 6+ months of experience with method/SOP editing, writing, and/or research 
• Must be willing to work Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM

The approximate pay range for this position is $53,000.00 to $74,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
