The Technical Lead is responsible for the technical leadership for the Petivity IoT or Petfinder cloud platform. Focused primarily on cloud infrastructure, AI/ML, and backend service development, this role will provide both architectural guidance as well as technical strategy contributions. 

 

  • Lead an external team of cloud engineers while contributing ~30% to active development 
  • Help other team members overcome obstacles, complete their assigned tasks, and communicate to leaders when challenges arise 
  • Coordinate with the product owner to understand functional requirements, prioritize within, communicate risks/roadblocks, and collaborate with developers 
  • Identify and implement tools for monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive continuous improvement in system stability and performance 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, and business/functional documents 
  • Make recommendations for future state processes and own them through to delivery 
  • Design, manage, and optimize a CI/CD process for deployments to each environment within the development lifecycle 
  • Develop technical documents (documentation, best practices, and architecture diagrams) 
  • Be an individual contributor when it comes to designing and developing frameworks and critical pieces of code which have a wider impact

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum): 

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of related work experience architecting, developing, and maintaining scaled technical solutions in a cloud environment OR high school degree plus 7+ years of related work experience architecting, developing, and maintaining scaled technical solutions in a cloud environment 
  • Strong proponent of Cloud (preferably AWS), Automation, Agile, Lean, and DevOps, Containerization required 
  • Hands-on experience with software development and system administration preferred
