Position Summary:
The Operations Engineering Specialist (Distribution/Warehouse) will assist in managing small to medium-sized projects such as improving efficiency, ensuring continuity, and/or increasing capacity across our fulfillment centers. This role will also be responsible for partnering cross-functionally to execute projects that support key business goals and drive measurable results—such as enhancing consumer satisfaction, maintaining compliance and driving competitive advantage.
The Operations Engineering Specialist will also coordinate and track the progress for initiatives such as the Florida Warehouse move and the PTL Digital Label project, along with other efforts across all six NNUS fulfillment centers. This role will also support administrative tasks including but not limited to managing the Nessoft PO/Invoice CAPEX process and helping maintain the preventive maintenance program.
Responsibilities:
Fulfillment and After Sales Center Infrastructure / CAPEX
• Supports fulfillment center and after sales center projects, and installation of all equipment and tools.
• Leads tasks related to the closure of any decommissioned US operations center.
• Supports equipment RFPs w/procurement for all operations centers, for example but not limited to VNA pallets racking systems, robot automation, conveyors, pick to light tables, utilities, copack lines, etc.
• Ensures new building's infrastructure meet all Nestle quality and safety (SHE) and engineering compliance requirements before go live, and as standards evolve in existing locations.
• Partners with HQ Supply Chain support group on critical US infrastructure projects.
• Supports Project Engineering Manager on Capital Expense budget for all locations, including Nessoft PO management and vendor invoice audits.
• Carries out preventative maintenance plan for multiple vendor at each fulfillment center including but not limited to budget, scheduling, corrective action plan execution, and coordination with 3PL.
• Works with a team of project managers, engineers, suppliers, and on-site operators to support organizational goals.
Operations and Process Improvement
• Participates in Logistics Excellence Reviews (LER) at operations centers to identify gaps to improve cost and quality through process mapping and DMAIC process, develop project charters/action plans, and owns execution and sustainability of process improvements.
• Executes process improvement projects requiring CAPEX to improve efficiencies and processes.
• Supports the development of the annual Operations Master Plan (OMP) for Operations Team.
• Participates in the internal Nespresso NCE process (i.e. MOR, OMP, etc).
Sustainability
• Supports operations infrastructure related sustainability projects from design to implementation.
• Supports organizational level sustainability projects upon request.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or in a related field required.
• 2 or more years of professional work experience in Engineering, Project Management, Operations and/or in Logistics required.
• Must have strong Project Management and Project Planning skills, preferably with an understanding of contracts, construction law and permitting requirements and certification procedures.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) required.
• Must have excellent communication (oral and written), presentation, organizational and stakeholder management skills (including the ability o develop and maintain strong, cross-functional stakeholder relationships).
• Must have a strong awareness of key Warehouse and Distribution Center safety measures.
• Ability to integrate key project teams, define roles and key responsibilities (resource management) required.
• Exposure to Capital Investment projects in e-commerce/fulfillment industry including preparation of a CAPEX project submission (CIAT) is a plus.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% based on the needs of the team and the business.
The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as geographic location.
