Position Summary 

 

We’re launching a major transformation project to expand our Staverton factory and significantly increase production capacity. This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in a high-impact, multi-year capital investment. 

 
We are seeking a Project Engineer specialising in Process Equipment to lead the delivery of key production systems required for this large-scale factory expansion.  

 

As Project Engineer – Process Equipment, you will be responsible for the planning, design, installation, and commissioning of core processing systems. This includes raw material storage and handling, grain milling, mixing, extrusion, product forming, drying, and enrobing. 

 

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure that all systems are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget—supporting CPW’s commitment to quality, food safety, and operational excellence. 

 

This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity with flexible working arrangements depending on the project phase. Full on-site presence will be required during the implementation phase. 

 

A day in the life of a Project Engineer – Process Equipment 

 

  • Lead the process equipment scope of the factory expansion project from concept through commissioning 
  • Specify, procure, and oversee installation of systems for processes such as raw material handling, milling, mixing, extrusion, forming, drying, and enrobing 
  • Ensure all equipment meets hygiene, safety, and performance standards 
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Production, Quality, R&D) and external vendors 
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedule, and budget for process systems 
  • Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and performance validation of process lines 
  • Ensure integration with upstream and downstream systems, including automation and utilities 
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives

  • A degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification 
  • Proven Track Record managing engineering projects 
  • Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments is preferred 
  • Strong multidisciplinary engineering expertise, with a proven track record in delivering capital investment projects involving process and/or packaging equipment 
  • Solid understanding and practical application of Health & Safety legislation (e.g. CDM, PUWER, CE marking, machinery safety) 
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMI-PMP or equivalent) is an advantage 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoDesk tools, including AutoCAD and Navisworks 
  • Excellent communication, budgeting, and contractor management skills
