Position Summary 

 

We’re launching a major transformation project to expand our Staverton factory and significantly increase production capacity. This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role in a high-impact, multi-year capital investment. 

 
As Utilities Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, design, installation, and commissioning of all utility services required for the new factory building. This includes systems such as steam, compressed air, chilled water, potable water, and other essential services. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the new facility is fully supported by reliable, efficient, and compliant utility infrastructure. 

This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity with flexible working arrangements depending on the project phase. Full on-site presence will be required during the implementation phase. 

 

A day in the life of a Project Engineer 

  • Lead the design, specification, and commissioning of utility systems including steam, compressed air, chilled water, potable water, and wastewater 
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedule, and budget for utility-related workstreams 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety, environmental, and engineering standards 
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure seamless integration of utility systems with the new factory infrastructure 
  • Oversee installation and commissioning activities to ensure systems meet performance and regulatory requirements 
  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues related to utility systems 
  • Support sustainability and energy efficiency goals through smart utility design and operation

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent) 
  • Proven Track Record in utility systems design and project delivery, ideally within manufacturing or FMCG environments 
  • Strong technical knowledge of utility systems including steam, compressed air, chilled water, and water treatment 
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards (e.g. pressure systems, Legionella control, environmental compliance) 
  • Experience managing contractors and working within multi-disciplinary project teams 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoDesk tools (AutoCAD, Navisworks) 
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
