Manufacturing Capability Specialist / Training Manager

Salary up to £45,000 (depending on experience) Plus potential bonus, fantastic benefits inc pension/ 25 days holiday, an additional 12 days flex days, and private health cover.
 

Position Summary

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a talented, driven individual to join our Sudbury factory as the Manufacturing Capability Specialist. The Manufacturing Capability Specialist role is responsible for ensuring that the Sudbury factory is fully compliant with external & Nestlé standards & for ongoing support for training & development. 

 

The successful candidate will have experience building and maintaining development solutions and can leverage both internal and external contacts to support a sustainable, value-adding programme.

 

Purina is the UKs largest manufacturer of pet food. Sudbury is our Dry Pet Food factory, and has been up and running since 1990, a key strategic site in the European and UK dry pet food network Sudbury has seen some great progress in its NCE journey and volume evolution. 
 

A day in the life of a Manufacturing Capability Specialist

This role will also be responsible for ensuring the operations are compliant to Nestlé audit standards. The successful candidate will display strong coaching & development and people skills required to drive the team’s performance through capability building. 
Key responsibilities of this role will include:  

  • Manage Training Budget in-line with factory training requirements: To develop and execute the site annual training plan. This will include training needs analysis, evaluation, and training records.
  • Operational Training Competence: Responsibility for the operational competence of individuals on site and by working in partnership with line managers to ensure the training provision is effective. Cost, priority, standardisation are elements to consider. 
  • Mandatory Training Compliance: 100% (available employees) completion of all site mandatory training on time and in full which includes reporting to comply with Nestle and External audit requirements.
  • NCE competence build in-line with TPM Expansion: Support line managers and Pillars to build robust NCE Competency Build Plans to ensure TPM steps are delivered on time
  • Line Centric Gap Closure: Using the market competency framework, rollout a comprehensive training plan to close all functional gaps.
  • Apprentice objective delivery and development: To develop our talent pipeline in-line with market and government standards in close cooperation with the Nestle Academy. Ensure each individual has the relevant skills and behaviours to move into the defined "End Role"
     

What will make you successful

To be considered for this pivotal role within our business, we’re looking for candidates with proven training experience and examples of creation of training programmes.  In addition to this you will have good understanding of how to use the Microsoft office suite, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel. You will be passionate about building capability and delivering a high performing team.
