Position Summary
We have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join our team based at our Nestlé Purina Factory in Sudbury, Suffolk. 

 

This role is responsible to lead, guide and motivate the engineering team to ensure the plant is available to produce our fantastic products on time whilst meeting all quality and safety requirements.

A day in the life of Maintenance Manager …
Reporting into the Factory Engineering Manager this role will manage and support the activities of the maintenance team to meet both Production and Engineering demands. The Maintenance Manager will focus on the implementation of Asset Maintenance and TPM- (PM pillar) to deliver Asset Intensity to drive improvement in estimated unplanned stops 

The main focus of the role will be: 
•    Completing the weekly maintenance plan for your area of the factory 
•    Liaising with operations to ensure they are supported by the engineering team 
•    Liaising with external contractors and suppliers- ensuring they have the right safety permits and making sure they are operating in a safe manner 
•    Focus on continuous improvement looking at asset reliability and break down root cause analysis  
•    Responsible for the training and upskilling of the maintenance team. Looking to coach and develop career and succession planning for engineering within the Factory.  
•    Oversee compliance to Nestle, GMI, UK standards, rules and regulations in your area of responsibility 
•    Co-ordination of engineering activities during maintenance days and shut down periods. 
•    Liaise with external suppliers and manage contractors. Provide technical support to the Maintenance Technicians, AWG Team Leaders, SPM's and Operations Managers. 
•    Be available to give technical advice and support out of hours where escalation protocols have been met.

 

What will make you successful?
•    Degree level Engineering qualification or equivalent e.g. Time served engineer with a formal engineering qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience 
•    Proven experience in a technical field, preferably food manufacturing or consumer goods industry (as Project Engineer or Project Manager, Industrial Services, M&I or E&A/MES Engineer, or equivalent positions). 
•    Continuous improvement knowledge and experience. 
•    Fixed Assets Maintenance responsibilities, including maintenance budget preparation and control (preferably including exposure to TPM/LEAN preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution). 
•    Demonstrable experience in leadership & supervision (of technical teams, contractors or other 3rd parties).
