We’re looking for an MRP Planner (Materials Management Planner) to join our Supply Chain Team at our Sudbury, Purina Petcare site.  We are passionate about quality and safety and you would share these values and be ready to assume immediate responsibility as your career develops within the UK and potentially overseas.

In our Sudbury factory, the circa 200 strong workforce produce some of the UK’s most popular brands including Go-Cat, Bakers, Purina ONE, BETA and Pro Plan providing consumers with a product to meet their every need. Your impact

 

The key measure of success for this role is ensuring material availability is in line with the production requirements, reaching stock cover targets and contributing to economic efficiency, but other duties include.

 

  • Monitor material availability to fulfil requirements within the agrees cost boundaries and alert the stakeholders about potential issues
  • To manage exceptions to the execution process and escalate when required
  • Create an optimised replenishment plan for raw and packaging materials over an 18 month horizon that ensures supply of material to production whilst ensuring that the working capital targets for raw and packaging materials are met.
  • Monitors supply signals through the use of MRP purchase requisitions ensuring delivery dates, lead times and required quantities are correct and finally creating purchase orders and ensuring their fulfilment by the supplier.
  • Manages directly with the defined supplier the delivery of materials according to storage limitation. This includes creating, sending, confirming, receiving, investigating errors and discrepancies on blocked or parked invoice lines and handling all exceptions / issues in those operations, including claims management. 
  • Identification of possible opportunities concerning material supply for the factory within the coming 18 month horizon    
  • To monitor supplier performance and escalate issues with poor supplier performance (on time, quantity &  quality) back to the suppliers with the support of the European Purchasing Team.

 

Your ingredients for success

 

 To be successful in this role you will already have worked within manufacturing logistics.

 

- Two or more years of relevant operational experience at  in at least one of the following areas

              - Factory Logistics

- Materials Handling

- Supply Chain
