Location: Tahliwal Factory, H.P.
Education Qualification: Engineering graduate (Preferably Electrical / Mechanical) with 3 to 6 years of substantial practical experience.
Experience: 6 to 8 years’ experience in technical field in manufacturing, engineering field in FMCG industry
Main Purpose of the Job:
The Plant Engineer is responsible to ensure low cost, highly efficient and sustained operational performance of the lines. He also ensures high asset reliability by applying appropriate maintenance strategy together with an effective spare parts inventory and management.
The role has a shared responsibility with production, QA, production planning, application group and industrial services functions that ensures operational execution speed and sustainable manufacturing excellence.
Roles & Responsibility:
- Product manufacture
Ensure the achievement of department objectives and monitor product cost, quality, and timeliness as per production / delivery plan.
Ensure all production / filling-packing lines have high operational performance and process capability to deliver products as per established standards. Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities viz. routine, periodic maintenance and CIP / shutdown activities.
Establish and implement a maintenance strategy and schedule supported by all functions thereby ensuring availability of lines / plant (production and infrastructure) to ensure optimum utilisation of assets and resources.
- Compliance
Ensure product and process compliance in line with Nestlé policies, standards, and legal requirements.
Ensure workplace safety and effective communication of Safety, Health and Environment to all team members.
Conduct inspection / audits and investigate incidents to close gaps.
Ensure good and hygienic engineering practices are always applied.
- Maintenance integration
Coach / train, with related parties, the technicians and operators in preventive / routine maintenance activities and machinery operations.
Ensure that AMM is fully integrated with factory operations and all operators / technicians understand and practice AMM.
Support the implementation AM pillar methodologies.
Coach and promote breakdown analysis.
- Data management / Systems
Measure, analyse and improve line performance by using available systems / tools (AMM etc.)
Measure, analyse and control maintenance & improvement (M&I) budget and spare parts inventory
Contribute to establishing energy and line standards.
- Continuous Improvement
Review process failures and execute continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities, accessing proposals and timely implementation.
Support projects (team) by setting up / installation of new equipment, test run and ensuring readiness for mass production. Wherever required, participate in standard audits (HACCP, FSMS, GMP etc.)
Ensure that the equipment history, damage code and root cause analysis are completed correctly.
- Knowledge management and people development
Coach and mentor the members of team to increase productivity and efficiency by participating in daily meetings, reviewing actions.
Create and manage competence building plan (CBP) for the team.
Train the team on safety and environmental requirements and procedures.
Review and feedback to direct reports of their performance against their principal accountabilities and behavioural competencies to continually improve individual and team operational and/or technical capability in line with site skills and behavioural requirements.
Communicate information flows from the management to the direct reportees and vice versa.
