Minimum Educational qualification: Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical engineering, Physics, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related discipline.

Minimum Relevant work experience: Minimum 3 - 4 years’ work experience in the Food Industry.

Nestlé Ghana Limited is currently looking for a Factory Hygienist to ensure the implementation and maintenance of an effective hygiene system in the production lines and environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Carry out/ participate in internal audit programs eg. Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits/ visits highlighting gaps and recommending corrective actions to be implemented.
  • Participate in third party supplier assessment schemes and external warehouse audits.
  • Assist in the daily supervision of the hygienic status of the plant.
  • Conduct hygiene induction for all new staff.
  • Ensure the delivery of hygiene training to the factory personnel and external contractors.
  • Supervise engineering projects that have an impact on zoning/ hygienic conditions of the factory.
  • Release in collaboration with the relevant functions, new production lines after commissioning prior to start up.
  • Liaise with all relevant functions to ensure that both production areas and non-production areas are regularly cleaned with the adequate tools and chemicals.
  • Manage the validation of cleaning processes for equipment and monitors their effectiveness.
  • Drive application of Integrated Pest Management and supervises the Pest Control Contractor.
  • Promote quality and hygiene awareness and provide constant support to production to find ways of improving the hygienic status of the factory.
  • Establishment of proper zoning principles in the factory per product category and compliance by all employees and visiting personnel
  • Participate in Internal audit
  • Participate in food safety team meetings as a food team member responsible for NGMP implementation.
  • Perform any other job that maybe assigned from time to time by the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Safety Health & Environment: Working safely and support the overall Safety, Health and Environment Management standards that apply to your work area. Ensure daily monitoring and updates of all Internal Control Plans (ICP) for all equipment and media.
